The Team

Dear Small Orgnization,

The team at KHF are people who are still in the trenches at small museums, local historical organizations, and other nonprofits. We understand what it is to design and implement an inclusive exhibit with only two volunteers, one staff, and less than $300. To function with an absentee board. To buy volunteer appreciation gift cards with your own money because there’s no room in the budget.

We provide support that is practical rather than theoretical, though much of what we practice is grounded in research. We not only have the credentials but also operate with in the context of small museums and understand its culture. Because we are still living it, working it.

We’re not name droppers and we don’t have large museums in our portfolio, but we do have the trust of former staffs and volunteers as well as fellow colleagues.

We are redefining the consulting model for small museums by providing transparent services and fees. Because insight should be accessible to everyone.

Sincerely,

The KHF Team

A watercolor painting of a serene beach scene at sunset, featuring a silhouetted person dancing in shallow water. The sky is filled with warm hues of orange, pink, and purple, blending into soft blues. Gentle ripples form around the figure’s feet, and a distant boat is visible on the horizon beneath dramatic, cloud-touched skies.

Ms. LaShell

I bring over 25 years of expertise in child development and teaching in addition to over a decade of museum volunteer experience. My museum journey began as an educational volunteer and grew into a role as an exhibit project leader, where I apply my background to improve accessibility and create hands-on, low-tech learning experiences. At Kaleidoscope Heritage Focus, I design inclusive, creative solutions that enhance museum engagement for every visitor by blending personal insight and professional knowledge.

Ms. Lyndee

After 27 years of teaching in early childhood education, I began my museum journey in 2019. In museums, I found a new educational space where my teaching experience—especially my hands-on approach to learning—was valued. I started by assisting with workshops and gradually my contribution grew to include proofreading and copy editing research papers, exhibit labels, policies, guides, and marketing materials. As an organized soul, I also help manage contracts and scheduling at Kaleidoscope Heritage Focus.
